JOB SUMMARY
The Behavior Analysis Intern provides direct behavioral interventions to teach communication, social, and daily living skills, to help reduce problematic behaviors in the home and the community, as directed by the ABA Manager or BCBA. Using interventions developed out of the science of Applied Behavior Analysis, the Behavior Analysis Intern will ensure the appropriate therapy treatments are being utilized during patient treatments under the direct supervision of ABA Manager or BCBA fulfilling the goals set forth by Pediatric Partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
- Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationship with patients and families served using evidence-based behavior analytic strategies
- Teaches safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills
- Collects with accuracy behavior data including continuous and discontinuous data collection methods such as duration, frequency, rate partial -interval recording, whole-interval recording, momentary-time sampling, or event recording
- Completes assessment reports and functional behavior assessment data under the direct supervision of the BCBA and/or BCBA-D
- Collects in-session assessment data using evidence and research-based behavior analytic measures
- Follows treatment plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgement and prescribed ABA treatment plans
- Practices supervision skills under direct supervision of BCBA and/or BCBA-D
- Develops and conducts program modifications under direction from BCBA and/or BCBA-D using data-based decision making
- Maintains confidentiality and safeguards all patient related information per HIPAA
- Works with BCBA to educate parents and guardians on reinforcement and early intervention processes
- Documents, maintains records and bills in EMR system
- Demonstrates time management to complete all required documentation for medical records and billing
Non-essential Functions
- Collaborates with other disciplines within the Pediatric Partners team and experts in the ABA field
- Performs other duties essential for the running of Pediatric Partners practice as assigned by supervisor or other designate.
- Demonstrates sound judgement in heightened situations and reacts appropriately and according prescribed training methods
- Researches and reports new therapy treatments, procedures, and policies to management team
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from qualifying institution with behavioral-analytic coursework or similar degree required
- Acceptance into an accredited ABA program or current degree includes coursework toward certification in behavior analysis
- Related experience in childcare, direct support professional, certified nurse’s assistant preferred
- Registered Behavioral Technician Certification or completion of certification within 30 days from start date
- Current hands-on CPR course certification
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Understands insurance system for appropriate billing, Microsoft Office tools
