Three Speech-Language Pathologists from Pediatric Partners Neurobehavioral Health Clinic in Fargo attended a virtual TalkTools conference this past spring. TalkTools applies a unique, hierarchical approach to Oral-Placement Therapy and focuses on the measurable, result-driven path for both therapists and clients. Goals of this therapy include speech clarity, improved feeding, and independence.
Our therapists were interested in oral-motor strength and weakness and how to treat weakness in patients with a variety of disorders and diagnosis. Throughout this TalkTools training, they were able to learn how articulators and strength need to be functional in order to produce clear speech.
