Mental Health Counselor, Kim, recently attended the course “Stay Apart, So We Can Be Together: Attachment for Children Through Covid” at the Bismarck Heritage Center sponsored by Pride Manchester House. Kim attended this course to broaden her knowledge of attachment theory and development and to gain ideas on how to enhance the experience between the professional and child during times of distance service provision.
Kim learned a variety of effective strategies to implement with kids while engaging in telehealth and in person sessions to maintain healthy boundaries in the face of constant demand for contact, via social media. Completing this course will help Kim by giving her strategies to use with kids while engaging in telehealth and in-person sessions, when protective masks are required. Kim wants parents to know that even with everything going on with COVID-19 protective measures, we can still have healthy and effective communication skills and connections.
